Limited edition sculptural installation - the work includes collective items, such as; carvings, figurines, paintings, etc and black plinths. The installation also includes wall mounted paintings and African masks.
Individual plinths can be purchased, at the above price, but the work evolves and develops each time the work is created - contact the artist for further information.
Appropriating objects and images in Untitled; generates a conversations between Ancient African masks / sculptures, European figurines, European landscape prints & paintings and contemporary items, such as computer parts. The juxtaposed objects engage in old and new dialogues, of the human condition, in regards to racial politics of today.
The relationship between the porcelain figurines, African masks and computer components forms a mapping process of our collective histories, whilst exploring the migration of culture roots with the evolution of the mankind.
For the Diaspora Pavilion, I have further developed the sculptural installation work Untitled, by introducing larger African carvings, porcelain figurines and paintings thereby using fewer objects.
